Buckethead decapitation

Postby Faerie Tanith » January 24th, 2018, 5:53 am

I'm a little bit lost with Malcolm Neil's death, I'll admit it.

As I understand it, he died in the same trap that would have killed Logan. Aka, he got pulled into the spinning circular blades. Okay, cool.

What's losing me is the fact that the only gap in those buckets is at eye-level. For his face to be touched by the blade, the gap would have needed to be level with his mouth. Not to mention the blade wouldn't fit through the entire gap... meaning the blade would hit the sides of the gap at some point, preventing the saw from slicing all the way through his face. Which doesn't make sense seeing as his head appears to have been cleanly cut all the way through

And then there's this.

When the bucket is removed the top half of his head is gone. Not only is his head sawed off completely and cleanly, the top half is missing. But if the bucket was never removed... because Eleanor had to cut it off... where did his head go?

TL;DR: why is his head sliced off at the wrong place and where the frick did it go?

I'm assuming after his death, Logan removed the original bucket and the top of the head and then sealed a new bucket to his head. It might just be a goof on the part of the film makers but also, had Logan just displayed a decapitated body with no bucket it wouldn't have given off the Jigsaw vibe he was going for.

At 1:25, you can see that the bucket was damaged by the saw blade. Logan just fixed it afterwards, before displaying the corpse in the park.

Damn, nice catch. I need to give this movie more credit and look for finer details, I've been really quick to write things in this movie as production errors.

Wow that is a nice catch. And answers one of the questions I had on the film. Thanks

No problem. I'm glad myself that I spotted this because I love the series and its story so much, so logic errors bother me a lot more than they do in other films. Therefore, I'm always glad whenever I find an explanation for those mistakes. The thing with Neil's head was one of those mistakes, so when I watched the films for the second time, I actually had the intention to pay close attention to this particular scene at the morgue.
